Russia has some names that have made it big in the international motorsports scenario and Vitaly Petrov is one of them.
Though he is not active on the F1 race tracks these days, he continues to be a pivotal figure in Russian motor racing events. As the F1 season for 2017 starts off, there is much focus on the different race tracks being prepared around the world, including Russia.
Every race track in different countries has its own nuances and challenges that drivers look forward to knowing and conquering well before the real races begin. The 2010 season comes with a lot of memories, both good and bad for several teams in the race.
One team that came off with a bad memory in that season, would be the Ferrari team and one which VitalyPetrov would always be remembered for.
The Ferrari Team Driver, Fernando Alonso had started out well, with Ferrari trying to utilize an opportunity to get Felipe Massa up ahead of Webber, thus providing Alonso with a good blocker.
However, the strategy was an epic fail as Massa’s stop turned out to be a bad one as he had a little trouble with the right rear, making him lose a second and a half in the pits on Webber.
Massa was thus forced to sit behind Webber’s Red Bull. Ferrari went on to make a crucial mistake after missing the first opportunity.With their failure to get Massa up in front of Webber, the Ferrari team had to bring Alonso up again to cover Webber. Continue Reading
Often it takes legends to point out and motivate young drivers who are commencing their careers on the race track.
Daniil Kvyat is being looked upon by Vitaly Petrov as someone whose career still has possibilities, thereby hinting that the young driver should push on and try to move his career ahead on the race tracks.
Vitaly is being looked upon as a legend by many and that is not without credit. He was the first Formula 1 racer from Russia. Hence he feels that it is needed that he motivates his countrymen who are in similar profession. He stated that his countryman, Daniil Kvyat can still put his career on track. This is a motivation for the 22 year old Kvyat who has suffered a blow when he was relegated to the junior team of Toro Rosso by Red Bull in order to replace his senior position with Max Verstappen. The company stated that Kvyat was struggling to cope with the pressure that he was facing from the races. The stress of events that occurred in Sochi had taken a toll on him.
